Lagurus ovatus and Setaria

cm 24x17, 1981

This early work dates back to 1981 and was painted while vacationing at the seaside in southern Italy. In that camping place the trees were so young they gave no shadow, so the tent was hot and the grass all around looked burnt by the sun.

These herbs were painted with a sense of compassion for each other. I feel it again when looking at this drawing.
